WASHINGTON, DC. Democrats BLOCKED aid again to small U.S. Business and employees affected by the Coronavirus shutdown.

Previously, $250 Billion was extended to small business in the form of forgivable loans if the money was used to support keeping the business alive and furloughed employees paid. The program is called the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)(Gov website).

House Democrats wanted to double the cost of this bill by adding another $250 Billion for state and local governments, including expanding unemployment.

Last month Congress passed the CaresAct which already provided over $2 Trillion, included money for state, local governments and expanded unemployment. The money set aside for small business and their employees have already ran out as millions more people are now out of work.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) defended the small business aid block by throwing in a straw-man argument.

She said women and minority-owned small businesses should have the same ability to get PPP funds. The false logic here that Pelosi failed to state is that the PPP is available to ALL U.S. small business. The program passed by Congress, does not discriminate against gender or race.

Pelosi just invented the false argument to create the illusion that minorities and women are somehow exempt from public funds.

Instead of addressing the current unemployment problems related to the Coronavirus, the House Speaker was criticized for showing off her $12 per pint of Jenny’s Ice Cream in her twin Wolf sub-zero “$24,000” refrigerator-freezers.

Small business employs over 58 million people in the United States or 47.5% of the entire U.S. workforce. Some 22 million people have applied for unemployment over the last month due to Coronavirus business cutbacks and shutdowns.

The Bill to assist millions of out-of-work Americans in small business has since been stalled until at least May 4th.
