The Tea Party – Threat to the Progressive Agenda?

original article written by Net Advisor

WASHINGTON, DC. President George W. Bush has been out of office for about 5 years. The first four or so years since President Bush left office, anything that happened that didn’t work out was painted as “Bush’s fault” by the Democrat Party.

After the Democrats lost the House in 2010, everything that didn’t go their way was a deemed a disaster and painted Republican’s fault (Report), or any other convenient target.

[1] Tea Party Agenda

The Tea Party believes in Constitutional law like our forefathers had written in the U.S. Constitution. Lately, the Democrats have seen a rise in political activity by the Tea Party once again.

When trying to have a rational debate with someone and they begin ignoring the argument and subvert to personal attacks, they are using ad Hominem (personal attack). Just remind them this is a fallacy of logic and that doesn't disprove your argument, nor does it prove theirs.

[2] Democrats Use Personal Attacks to Try and Discredit Their Political Opponents

As seen in behavioral psychology, argumentation theory and philosophy, Democrats use fallacies of logic such as Argumentum ad Hominem.

“the fallacy of attacking the character or circumstances of an individual who is advancing a statement or an argument instead of trying to disprove the truth of the statement or the soundness of the argument. Often the argument is characterized simply as a personal attack.”

— Source: Philosophy 103, Lander University, NC.  Case Study: Harvard University

Instead of attacking the argument with reason, the individual makes personal character attacks which we will see throughout this report.

[3] Republicans, Conservatives, Libertarians, Tea Party Mostly Asleep in Nov. 2012?

What should have been a slam dunk in the 2012 election was probably overconfidence by millions of voters who did not even bother to vote in the General Election. Perhaps these voters were under the assumption that there was no way with the worst economic record in modern history can a sitting President be re-elected? If people don’t vote for their candidate, they can’t get elected.

[4] Election Issue: Voter Fraud

There are concerns about voter fraud (video). This includes votes on behalf of homeless, voting more than once (2013 video), dead people voting (report 1, 2, 3, 4), voting in multiple states, and political groups engaged in voter fraud in (2008)(2009)(2012). With a progressive president who controls all the investigative arms such as the DOJ, FBI, except for the House (2010-to report date), voter fraud is a concern.

The Tea Party [Read Goals, Point 20] is largely made up of hard-working, and retired law-biding U.S. citizens who are fed up with the deceptions of their government and who feel that laws including Constitutional laws are being violated and, with limited exceptions,  not even Congress seems to be doing anything about it.

The freshman Senator Ted Cruz (R) from Texas has been chastised not only by the progressives, but by his own political party. Cruz, like a handful of other members in Congress including but not limited to Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Senator Rand Paul (R-TX), Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) seem to be doing something different. Forcing the will of the People in Congress to follow the law, not exempt them from it. The Tea Party also seeks fiscal responsibility, allow laws that are conducive to operate especially a small business, not burden them with 20,000 pages of healthcare regulations for example.

As simple as this sounds, following the law, enacting fiscal responsibility and allowing people to try and make a living without massive regulations, this is the basis of what the Tea Party wants.

Unfortunately, “fiscal responsibility” is not in the progressive vocabulary. The fact is the U.S. National Debt is up 58% in less than 5 years (Report).

Since no one else is willing to have a responsible government, the Tea Party is supporting political candidates (again) who will. This move threatens the old establishment, especially the progressive’s agenda for crashing the economy. So what do the progressives do? They try every day to paint a colorful false narrative even if means flat out lying. Here are some of those characterizations the progressives try and paint on the Tea Party.

[5] Pelosi: Tea Party Holding us “Hostage?”

House minority leader, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said last week that House Tea Party was holding the GOP “hostage” and that Tea Party was “playing with fire” over the budget.

Pelosi has recycled this “hostage” claim from last December 2012 over the Fiscal Cliff.

It didn’t take but a few more days for Pelosi to up her colorful rhetoric. Pelosi called Congressional Republicans “legislative arsonists” at a recent press conference.

I call them ‘legislative arsonists’,” she said. “They’re there to burn down what we should be building up in terms of investments and education and scientific research, and all that it is that makes our country great and competitive.”

— House minority leader, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Source: Guardian.UK

Here Pelosi throws out a string of distraction fallacies. The Minority Leader tries to distract the audience from the underline debate (because she has no basis for argument); and instead uses Red Herrings in the argument such as education, scientific research, and investments; as if the Tea Party was somehow against these things. The Red Herrings try to get people to focus on something else other than the underline issue.

Peloso is a lawyer by trade. Any good lawyer would know that these arguments would never work in front of a skilled judge. But grandstanding before an unsophisticated audience  the “low information voter” is more likely to just acct these illogical references as facts.

[6] Pelosi: Democrats, Not Republicans Who Threaten to Shutdown Government

Pelosi makes this false statement too: “They (Republicans) want to shut down the government.” The only issue here with Pelosi and the Guardian article is the U.S. House DID in fact pass a continuing resolution (CR) (vote of 230 to 189) to fully fund the government until Mid-December. The only thing that was excluded was government funding for ObamaCare. Passage of this CR came Friday Sept. 20, 2013.

“Let me be very, very clear. I do not believe we should shut down the federal government. The only reason we might shut down the federal government is if President Obama and Majority Leader Reid decide they want to force a government shutdown.”

— Said Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) during 21+ hour speech on the U.S. Senate Floor (Source: CBS News)

Senator Cruz’ speech was the 4th longest informal ‘filibuster’ speech in U.S. history. This was also confirmed live by Senator Jeff Sessions toward the end of the 21+ hour speech. I quoted the Senator at that time.

[7] More Pelosi Rant: Republicans Will let Women “Die on the Floor?”

In October 2011, Pelosi said that “women can die on the floor” (Video @0:17). Pelosi was referring to whether Republicans were to stop government subsidies of abortions. As if Republican want women to die? This is the sort of liberal radicalism that does not show leadership, but rather shows the inability to engage in civil discourse.

[8] NY Democrat: Republicans in a “Civil War”

Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) said House Republicans are having a “civil war,” between old hard-line Republicans and Constitutional Tea Party members. Civil war? Seriously? Does Democrat from NY know what a civil war is? The democrat from New York is using a Slippery Slope Argument, where it ends in a far fetch conclusion.

[9] President Obama: “Stop Governing by Crisis”

President Obama weighed in putting his political rhetoric.  Obama criticized Republicans at the Washington Convention Center.

“It is time for these folks to stop governing by crisis,” Mr. Obama said at the Washington Convention Center. “Some want to shut down the government rather than provide people with health care!”

— President Barack Obama said (Source: Washington Times)

The President might want to check the reflection of a mirror on that statement. It was Obama’s now former Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel who said in 2009:

Video

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”

— President Obama’s then Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel said in 2009.

Obama also talked about kids being shot in one of his “hometown” of Chicago. What the president didn’t say is that his former Chief of Staff has been the Mayor of his “hometown” of Chicago since 2011.

What Mr. Emanuel nor any liberal Democrat wants to address is WHY people are being killed in Chicago? Chicago is also home to some 100,000 gang members. The city has amongst the toughest gun laws in the country, but the gangs don’t follow laws. Chicago also has one of the worst prosecution records in the country (Full Report).

If the Chicago mayor wants to stop or massively reduce the violence he could.  How? Call the governor and request the National Guard come down, have the Courts issue arrest warrants for known felons, and start sweeping up the gangs. The Democrat mayor won’t do that.

The Chicago mayor would rather blame inanimate objects for Chicago’s problems, and implement more gun laws. This is Albert Einstein’s definition of insanity.

[10] Democrats: Republicans are “Hostage Takers”

As if Nancy Pelosi, President Obama has used this “hostage” rhetoric before too at a White House press conference on Dec. 7, 2010:

Video

Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-NV) has repeatedly used language suggesting those who seek to support Constitutional law (“Tea Partiers”) are really “anarchists.”

[11] Harry Reid: Tea Party are “Anarchists”

Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-NV) said:

… “the anarchist (referring to the Tea Party) have taken over; they have taken over the House, now they are here in the Senate.”

—- Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-NV) (Video below @ 1:05)

Apparently the Senator from Nevada has not seen the word “anarchists” defined in a dictionary. Let’s help the Senator out and see what anarchists’ means.

Anarchists. noun. “a person who seeks to overturn by violence all constituted forms and institutions of society and government, with no purpose of establishing any other system of order in the place of that destroyed.”

— Source: Dictionary.com

Other definitions include a general rebellion against established rules or law. If Mr. Reid is using the later definition, because the primary definition does not apply, then what he is saying is anyone who speaks out in opposition to authority is an ‘anarchist.’ In other words, free speech and protesting your government peacefully is not acceptable?

The U.S. Constitution would beg to differ:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

— First Amendment, U.S. Constitution, ratified 12.15.1791. Source: Cornell University Law School

According to Wikipedia it includes a line stating, “Anarchism is often considered a radical left-wing ideology,[19][20].” This would be more fitting to the political left than political right, as we have seen no evidence other than from the left who has engaged in public rioting, violence, and supported by radical organizations such as “Occupy Wall Street” and the Communist Party [Full Report].

[12] Harry Reid’s Freudian Slip?

In a separate rant, Mr. Reid rehashes his anti-Tea Party rhetoric.

“We’re not going to bow to Tea Party anarchists who deny the mere fact that Obama is — (stops to correct himself in a Freudian Slip, then restates) ObamaCare is the law. We will not bow to Tea Party anarchists who refuse to accept the Supreme Court ruled ObamaCare be Constitutional…”

—- Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-NV) (Video below @ 0:25)

Mr. Reid just about said, “Obama is the law.” Harry Reid might have made a Freudian Slip in the above video. In psychology, Dr. Sigmund Freud argued in 1901 that people can sometimes make a mistake in speech where it might reveal a person’s true unconscious thought about the matter being discussed.

“Besides the simple forgetting of proper names there is another forgetting which is motivated by repression,” Freud explained (1901). According to Freud, unacceptable thoughts or beliefs are withheld from conscious awareness, and these slip help reveal what is hidden in the unconscious.

— Source: About Psychology

Did Senator Reid error in his speech and give his true unconscious thought and say his true belief is that, ‘Obama (not Congress) was the law?’ In this case, using Freudian Psychoanalysis, that would be the argument.

Senator Reid blames the Tea Party in Washington to deflect the real problems going on in his state. For example, the unemployment rate is on the rise in Nevada.

“Nevada’s unemployment rate inched up to 9.6 percent in June, with Las Vegas and Carson City posting major increases in jobless numbers.”

— Source: Las Vegas Sun, 07-18-20013

In March 2012, a CBS News and New York Times survey found, “80 percent of Americans are not better off financially than they were four years ago.” Reid said that he didn’t “believe in” polls and that they were “meaningless.” Mr. Reid might want to tell that to the unemployed in his state.

[13] Vice President Joe Biden: Tea Party Are ‘Terrorists’

In Aug. 2011, Vice President Joe Biden came out slashing the Tea Party. Mr. Biden likened the Tea Party to ‘terrorists.’

“Vice President Joe Biden joined House Democrats in lashing tea party Republicans Monday, accusing them of having “acted like terrorists” in the fight over raising the nation’s debt limit, according to several sources in the room.”

— Source: Politico

[14] Top White House Advisor: Associates GOP to Suicide Bombers

Dan Pfeiffer, the Senior Advisor to the White House (President Obama) tried to associate the GOP to ‘suicide bombers.’

“What we’re not for is negotiating with people with a bomb strapped to their chest,” Pfeiffer told CNN’s Jake Tapper in laying out the president’s refusal to compromise with the GOP to win an increase in the nation’s debt limit. “We’re not going to do that.”

— Source: Politico

[15] Al Gore: Accuses Republicans of Practicing “Political Terrorism”

Former Vice President Al Gore (D-TN) joined the White House hate crowd and likened Republicans (and other Conservatives) as practicing “political terrorism.” Mr. Gore also said that Republicans had a list of demands and if (Democrats) didn’t meet them by a (Republican) deadline that Republicans would “blow up the global economy.” Video:

Al Gore probably ranks among the top biggest liberal hypocrites on the planet. 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Winner and Global Warming alarmist (Fraud Video) (further cover-up), Al Gore sold his low-ratings TV channel, Current TV for (an estimated) $500 Million to the controversial Islamic Al Jazeera media organization. Al Jazeera media is headquartered in, owned and controlled by the government of Qatar. Al Jazeera has many criticisms including for allegedly being Anti-Isreal, and anti-American.

While serving as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton praised Al Jazeera calling it “real news” reporting, and that the U.S. was losing in the “information war.” Al Jazeera apparently now appears in 40 million American homes with the direct help of  Mr. Gore.

Al Gore Hypocrisy. Mr. Anti-Oil Al Gore, sold his media company to a government where 70% of their revenues come from gas and oil!

“Economic policy is focused on developing Qatar’s nonassociated natural gas reserves and increasing private and foreign investment in non-energy sectors, but oil and gas still account for more than 50% of GDP, roughly 85% of export earnings, and 70% of government revenues. Oil and gas have made Qatar the world’s highest per-capita income country and the country with the lowest unemployment.”

— Source: CIA World Factbook, Qatar (2012) (PDF).

So Al Gore took in $500 Million from an Islamic state who makes its money selling oil. We should also point out that the CIA noted (above) that Qatar has the highest per-capita income and lowest unemployment in the world BECAUSE they drill their own gas and oil, then sell much of it to everyone else. We can’t do that in the USA too?

Qatar is reportedly 67%+ Islamic state composing of mostly Sunni Islam. Qatar does apparently tolerate other views of religion but the government closely monitors and restricts non-Islamic religions at times.

The second largest faction within the Sunni Islam is Shia Islam. Not only do these groups tend to despise the U.S. and the West, especially Israel, but some of these factions have fought the U.S. in combat all over the world for decades, including but not limited to AfghanistanEgypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, LebanonLibya, Pakistan, Syria, Yemen, and in New York (9/11) and Boston, MA.

The (post-Qaddafi) Libyan government said that an Islamic group (al-Sharia) was closely involved in the 9/11/2012 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, where four Americans were killed (Report).

[16] Tea Party Political Shift?

Ever since the 2010 Mid-term elections, some of the old big government Republicans and big government Democrats have become afraid of a politically active group made of mostly Republicans, Librarians, Conservatives, Independents, non-political voters, and even some Democrats, sometimes collectively called, the Tea Party. There has also been infighting between status quo Republicans, and the more Conservative Tea Party members.

What is big government afraid of? Answer: Losing their power. With huge help of the Tea Party, in November 2010, Tea Party-backed Republican candidates swept 60 Democratic seats out of Congress. This was the biggest shift in the change of government power since 1928 (PDF) (Full Report). What this says is the Tea Party, when organized and fired up, has the will and the ability to make changes that Congress refuses to address such as running a Constitutional government and implement fiscal responsibility on government.

[17] Obama Using the IRS to Stop Tea Party Groups

The Liberal Democrats want to try and stop the Tea Party movement. Democrats have used the power of the IRS to do this. The IRS admitted they were targeting Tea Party solely because of their political affiliation (Sources: AP, CBS, NBC). Using the power of the federal government to go after opposing political groups is very disconcerting, and tells you how far political tyrants are willing to go to keep themselves in power.

[18] Analysis

When people (liberals) no longer debate an argument and instead make false character attacks, you know you got them scared that you won the argument. In fact, the more harsh the language, the greater the admission of their defeat of the argument. In some counties politicians get into fist fights, and throw chairs or other objects at each other. Liberals have not resulted to that yet, but their followers have created intentional mayhem.

The big question is whether hard-line GOP will decide they stand for something or bow to false and misleading Democrat and liberal media pressure that they are always the problem in government. If the GOP fails, the probability is, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) may lose his speakership, and many hard-line Republicans who supported ObamaCare have an increased chance to lose their job in their next election.

No matter what the outcome, the Democrats will likely continue to bully and attack their political opponents until they get their way on every issue. The key is to call them out on every attack, and guide them to focus on the actual argument.

“Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.”
